About Us!

Hi, welcome to Dinkers. We are so excited to have you here! 

Dinkers is a New Zealand owned and operated family business based on the Hibiscus Coast. 

We had our first baby in 2024 and started swimming classes at just 2 months old to get ahead of learning how to take her safely in the water with us - kiwis are raised on sun, sand and sea right?!

Then the summer hit (yey!) and we wanted to take her out and about with us to the beach but we were conscious of the harsh New Zealand sun and it not being ideal to use sunscreen just yet. So we went on the hunt for full length, sun protective swimwear and were left very disappointed.

So, with that Dinkers was born! We saw a need for fun, bright, water safe and most importantly sun safe swimsuits that are super easy to get on and off (have you ever wrestled a 2 month old into a tight swimsuit with no zips? I don't recommend it… tears all round)

Sun and water safety are so important to us, which is why we spent months researching water safe colours and UPF ratings for fabrics. Our suits and hats use bright, water safe colours and have been independently tested at UPF50+ by ARPANSA with “Excellent Protection” UPF classification. We take your children's safety seriously so that you can sit back and relax.

We also added in a 2 way full length zip so that nappy changes are a breeze...

So now, with Dinkers swimsuits and hats in tow we head down to the beach without the need to worry about sandy suncream or it being instantly washed off in the water. Just a smear across the face, neck, feet and hands and we are good to go!
